Girls for Girls
Girls for Girls Group forming this summer. Research indicates that for girls, self-esteem drops dramatically during the middle school years. Girls learn early that they can either be true to themselves and risk peer rejection or they can reject themselves and gain social acceptance. This group offers girls the opportunity to explore issues of identity and belonging with peers who are outside the "politics" of their immediate social network. In this context, they can feel free to explore their feelings and experiences without fear of social repercussions. Contact: Janet Overman, 612.798.7373, ext. 14
