SchedulingThere are two ways to schedule an intake appointment for therapy:(1) If you've been referred to a particular therapist or already know which therapist you'd like to see, you may call that person at their extension number and leave a voice mail message. Our therapists make every effort to return phone calls the same day they are received. (2) If you would like assistance in finding a therapist with experience in your area(s) of concern, you may call our general information number, 612.798.7373, and leave a voice mail message. An intake therapist will return your call, gather needed information, and then provide you with the name/names of therapists. If you prefer, our intake therapist can make the initial contact with the therapist of choice and have that person contact you. HistoryLakewood Counseling and Career Center was established in 1989 as a Rule 29 Mental Health Clinic. Our main clinic is centrally located in Richfield, with satellites throughout the metro area including: Burnsville and Oakdale.Lakewood set out with a vision of being a full service mental health clinic that served clients with a full spectrum of services. It was our belief that if we assembled an excellent team of clinicians, provided quality care, and truly understood our client's needs, we would grow into the premier clinic with the Twin Cities. That dream has been realized. Our clients have been and remain our strongest referral source. During tremendous turmoil in the health care system, Lakewood has remained a cutting edge, thriving mental health clinic. We have developed a strong network of collaborative professionals throughout the metro area. We serve clients from all over Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Not only has Lakewood provided assessment and therapy services, but we have developed seminars and workshops for the greater metro community. We have presented parent education, marital enrichment, chemical health and wellness seminars at schools, churches, and Fortune 500 Corporations. It is our belief that we need to form partnerships outside the clinic walls to carry forward the message of healthy living. We believe in what we do and have worked hard to assemble a team and clinical programs that are of the highest quality. That has served our clients well and helped us develop and maintain a first class reputation for over 15 years of service. |
